Food That Must Avoid by Asthma Patients

Asthma has many contributing factors, such as house dust, animal dander, cigarette smoke and smoke repellent. Sometimes certain foods can also trigger asthma. What is it?

Just as trigger allergies, certain foods or beverages can indeed trigger a recurrence of asthma in sufferers. For example, a person with asthma are allergic to crustaceans menu, it will recur asthma if you eat crustaceans.

"foods can trigger asthma because asthma is individual. Chocolates, nuts, shrimp, milk, all could be a trigger and can be associated with allergy sufferers owned," said Prof. Dr. Faisal Yunus, SPP (K), MD, PhD, pulmonary specialist RS MH Thamrin, when contacted detikHealth, Wednesday (01/05/2013).

Wherever possible the patient should recognize themselves what foods can trigger the disease. After that avoid the food or beverage.

Healthcare practitioners and RS Medistra, DR Dr Aru Sudoyo, SpPD, K-HOM, FINASIM, FACP also said the same thing. According to Dr Aru, like cigarette smoke, there are some foods that can indeed trigger a recurrence of the asthma sufferer.

But foods can not be generalized, because not all foods can trigger asthma sufferer. It relies on each of these asthmatics.

"These allergens are of different kinds, no generalizations can be made in all patients with asthma. Among asthmatics with each other what the trigger is not necessarily the same," explains Dr Aru.
