Definition
Amlodipine in the group of calcium channel blockers. This drug works dilate blood vessels, lower blood pressure and slow the heart rate thereby reducing the workload of the heart. It also dilates coronary arteries so that blood flow to the heart increases.
Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or chest pain (angina).
