Artwork, Simple Therapy For Parkinson's Patients

Simple things like put buttons on a shirt or a rip holes and stick is an easy thing to do. But not for people with Parkinson's.

Parkinson's is a neurological disease that is unique and still not be known for sure the cause and treatment. This disease causes degeneration of the nerve function of motor impairment, particularly on fine motor skills.

"This disease will only add weight," said Dr. Banon Sukoandari, Sp.S (K), chairman of Parkinson Care Foundation Indonesia (YPPI).

It is said in a discussion with the theme Art Parkinson: My Family and Parkinson's in order to commemorate the world right today. This seminar took place at Cafe Energy, Energy Building Jl. Gen.. Sudirman Kav. 52-53 Jakarta, as quoted on Friday (04/12/2013).

Therefore, Dr. Banon called Parkinson's patients to get treatment in the form of simple artwork. "By doing the work of art, the patient can be painting, drawing, and forming various crafts to provide training on fine motoric skills," said Dr. Banon.

This method has been widely applied abroad. It's just for the pictures still do not get a permit publication.

In Indonesia, this has been tried in patients with Parkinson's dr Banon and is under study.

"Artwork is also done to reduce the stress on the lower level," said Dr. Banon. This is believed to decimate complex planning in people with Parkinson's.

Therefore, YPPI will hold an event moving in rhythm and do simple crafts together on April 28, 2013. This activity will involve people with Parkinson's to be creative on the show.

Drawing and making a mosaic is a small and simple thing, but it means a lot to people with Parkinson's.
