Drink Soda Too Much Can Cause Depression

Enjoy a relaxing time with drinking soda may seem fun. But according to a recent study, the consumption of sugary drinks like soda in excessive amounts can increase the risk of depression.

According to a recent study conducted by the American Academy of Neurology, diet soda linked to risk of depression. The study began in 1995, when researchers began to track 263,925 people aged between 50 to 71 years.

During the year, the researchers measured how much participants consumed sugary drinks, like soda, fruit-flavored drinks with fruits, and coffee. After 10 years, the researchers asked participants to report on his mental state if she had been diagnosed with depression in recent years.

Researchers also had considered a number of other factors that may affect depression as age, sex, race, education, marital status, and level of physical activity. But the link between soda consumption and depression remains unclear.

People who drink at least 4 cans of soda per day had a likelihood of depression by 30 percent compared to those who did not consume soda at all.

"The link between soda consumption and depression may be explained that the soda has artificial sweeteners and high levels bad for health. Experts recommend to consume beverages that have health benefits than to drink soda that can increase the likelihood of depression. These beverages include the following:

2. Green tea

Fruit Smoothies and vegetables that are low in sugar beverages that can improve mood naturally.
