Living in a tropical climate makes us often really complain the hot weather, especially after school or after exercise. We get often wish we lived in a cooler place. But, after know at this place, we would think twice about living in a cold climate!
5.Yakutsk, Russia
The lowest temperature in the capital of Yakutia region is reaching minus 50 degrees Celsius and usually occurs in January. There are at least 200,000 people who live in this city. I was really cold causing people often let the car engine still turn on when they stop somewhere because they are afraid the petrol in the car can be frozen if it is turn off. In addition, this city is also a warning to not wear sunglasses. Understandably, the glasses might stick in our skin and ripped off our skin because it was very cold.

Greenland is known as the coldest region in the western hemisphere. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Greenland is minus 66 degrees Celsius.
3.Verkhoyansk, Russia
Eight days drive by car from Yakutsk, then we'll see Verkhoyansk, on the Arctic Circle. There are 1,300 people living in this region, and most of them work as a hunter or use the sleigh to drive. Actually, in this region there are a lot of gold, but it was too cold to open the mine. The place who known as "Stalin's Death Ring" can only be visited in the winter, when the lake freezes. The lowest temperature in the city is minus 69 degrees Celsius.
2.Oymyakon, Russia
Still next door to Verkhoyansk and Yakutsk, Oymyakon only inhabited by 900 people and its temperature can reach minus 71 degrees Celsius during the winter. Sadly the winter here is very long, which is about nine months.
1.Vostok Station, Antarctica
Here it is the coldest place in the world. With temperatures as low as minus 89 degrees Celsius, Vostok, which in Russian means "east", only used as a research center owned by Russia.
