Atenolol in the group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and blood flow.

Atenolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and high blood pressure. This medicine is also used to prevent heart attacks.

Important Information
Do not stop using atenolol without first talking to your doctor. Stop using this medication suddenly could make your condition worse.

If you have surgery, you may need to temporarily stop using atenolol. Make sure that your surgeon knows that you are using atenolol.

Atenolol can cause side effects interfere with reactions and thoughts. Be careful when driving or doing other activities that require full consciousness. Avoid drinking alcohol because it may increase drowsiness and dizziness caused Atenolol.

If you are in the future treatment of high blood pressure, keep using this medication even if your circumstances have improved. High blood pressure often does not cause symptoms. You may need blood pressure medication for life.

Side Effects
Call emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this:
· Hives or itching of the skin redness
· Difficulty breathing
· Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat

Call your doctor if you have the following serious side effects:
· Slow heartbeat or irregular
· Feelings of floating, unconscious
· Shortness of breath
· Swelling of the ankles or feet
· Nausea, abdominal pain, mild fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-like dirt, yellowing of skin and eyes
· Depression
· Hands and feet were cold

Other side effects:
· Decreased sexual ability, impotence, or difficulty getting an orgasm
· Difficulty sleeping
· Fatigue
· Restlessness and easily startled

Symptomatic side effects above may appear incomplete and other symptoms.
